Coronavirus: Monitor the Number of Cases in the World in Real Time
On July 21,2022 by Tom RoutleyThe coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis has spread across the world in recent weeks and has now been declared a pandemic by the WHO (World Health Organization). Amid many rumors and conflicting information, it is important to seek reliable facts about the disease. Now there's a website where you can follow real-time updates on coronavirus cases across the world.
The site was created by researchers at Johns Hopkins University in the United States. On one page it displays all the official data of confirmed cases, deaths, and recoveries from all 155 countries with confirmed cases.
How To Use the Platform
The website can be accessed here and is only available in English. To easily view all the data, all content is summarized in a single page, without the need for additional navigation. Here's quick preview of the site:

In the center of the page there's a large world map which graphically presents the cases in each country. The larger the size of the red ball within the territory, the greater the number of cases of the disease. When you click on one of the red balls, a tab will display the total number of infections (an active cases), the mortality rate, and the number of recovered patients:
The left and right columns display the same numbers in table format. On the left, you will find the total number of cases by country in descending order. The two tables on the right show the number of deaths caused by the disease and the number of people recovered, also divided by location.
In addition, in the lower right corner, there is space for a graph showing the chronological evolution of the disease, with the total number of cases in China (in orange), in the other countries (in yellow), and the number of recovered patients (in green). The tabs at the bottom allow you to see other graphs, such as the count of daily cases, for example:
The website is automatically updated several times throughout the day, and it only posts official data released by the public health authorities in each country. This site is reliable and helps to avoid the spread of false information that leads to panic. It also helps fight against those aiming hide the true severity of the coronavirus pandemic.
