BitTorrent Sync: Installation and first use

BitTorrent provide a new P2P sync service where the transfer of data is done directly from computer to computer.

Download BitTorrent Sync from the BitTorrent Labs

Choose the operating system: it is available for Windows, Mac and Linux ..

Choose the folder you want to to sync:

A secret code allowing other devices to access your synced folder(s) will be generated:

You need to transfer all the data in the synced folder(s).

Open BitTorrent Sync > Shared folders

Right-click on your folder > Open folder > Paste the files of your choice in this folder!

Alternatively you can click on Add and browse for the folders of your choice!

Right-click on your folder > Copy secret.

The secret is a string of characters that you can send to users, giving them access to a particular shared folder!

To access data stored in a folder on another device, you need to its "secret".

Simply go to:

Open BitTorrent Sync > Shared folders

Click on Add.

In the Share secret field > Enter the secret and click on OK!

Select the files you want to recover.
