All seven colourways of the Beats Studio3 wireless noise-cancelling headphones are available for £145 this Amazon Prime Day.

That’s a huge discount on their £300 RRP and the cheapest we’ve ever seen them on Amazon, beating the £150 they were selling for during last year’s Black Friday sales.

The headphones themselves are of the over-ear variety and play particularly nicely with iPhones, which should come as no surprise given Beats is an Apple subsidiary.

Just holding them in close proximity to an Apple smartphone or tablet is enough to trigger a connection pop-up. Once paired for the first time, they’ll connect to other Apple devices you own – even your Apple Watch – as long as you’re signed in via the same Apple ID and have your iCloud account active.

The Studio3 also offer active noise cancellation – a must-have in premium headphones these days. Their ability to dampen external sound is highly effective and benefits from what Beats refers to as “leak protection”. This sees the internal mics compensate for those times the over-ear seal is compromised, such as when you suddenly turn your head to look behind you.

Compared with other Beats headphones, the Studio3 are relatively restrained when it comes to bass reproduction and they balance mids perfectly. They may not be the last word in sound quality, but at this new lowest-ever price, there’s very little to complain about.

Build quality is excellent, touch controls are intuitive and easy to locate and the seven colours available – blue, white, grey, black, matte black, dark black and red – all ooze Beats style.

Those impressive traits saw the Beats Studio3 receive a four-star rating when we reviewed them but bear in mind that was at their launch price of £300. At less than half that price, they’re an even more appealing prospect.
